 Forgiven was created to capture the heavy, breathless tension of John 8, illustrating the pivotal moment Jesus stooped down to write in the dirt. The composition places the woman standing directly in between the wall of accusing Pharisees and Jesus, catching her in the center of a profound spiritual clash. While Scripture tells us that Jesus bent down and wrote in the dust before responding to her accusers, the Bible deliberately leaves His exact words a mystery. Through intentional artistic expression, this piece bridges that mystery by envisioning Him writing the word "FORGIVEN" directly at her feet—showcasing the moment Jesus completely removes the heavy weight of condemnation to meet us with the absolute freedom found within His forgiveness. Hand-drawn in raw, high-contrast graphite, the artwork serves as a powerful reminder that while the world saw a woman defined only by her past, Jesus was rewriting her future, intercepting the stones of judgment to write her liberty instead.
